Structural Asset Inspections

ARP have provided structural asset inspection services to a number of mining clients who require experience and extensive understanding of the mining environment for their asset reviews. An important part of the management of mining process facilities is the maintenance of existing assets. ARP have years of on-site experience working on operating and recommissioned mine sites which we utilise to provide our clients with industry leading knowledge and advice. Increasingly common is the full rehabilitation of deteriorated or even disused plants, one project of which is summarised below.
Project Overview+

The client, a gold miner located in New South Wales, commissioned a structural asset review of old and deteriorated plant located at their processing facility. ARP provided full on-site structural review of the existing assets including a full list of recommendations for rehabilitation of the plant.

Assets+

The processing plant assets included process buildings and infrastructure from the ROM pad to the Milling and Process Buildings, connecting conveyors and ore bins with structures in various states of repair. Some assets required very little action whilst others needed extensive repairs to return them to good working order.

Key findings and Asset Management Approach+

The emphasis on the plant rehabilitation being fit for purpose but also compliant to the required standards poses a challenge for many mining companies with tight budgets and deadlines to meet in order to recommission a plant. ARP understand these nuances and work with our clients to find optimised solutions to the repair of assets. The approach can be risk based and tailor to the need for fast recommissioning, maintaining a safe workplace for operators whilst allowing for future repairs and upgrades when capital allows.

Outcome+

The plant was successfully rehabilitated and is now an operating facility producing gold. As an ASX listed company the current economic climate has led to this project being highly successful returning great shareholder value.
