One of our recent structural modification projects was for the upgrade of the Lakeside Track screen at the Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre in Albert Park. The project entailed designing and drafting a new steel frame extension to support a larger video screen, replacing the existing smaller one.
The design showcases ARP’s ability to take on unusual brownfield projects and deliver highly detailed modifications to existing structures.
Design and engineering involved detailed review of the existing structure followed by engineering analysis for the extension to the screen support frame. The final modifications included a steel frame for the screen extension that was design to be aesthetically in keeping with the existing and a foundation extension to support the new columns.
The project required several key drafting elements:
Once the structural analysis and design were finalised, our team focused on creating accurate construction drawings. These drawings included detailed layouts, material specifications, and dimensional information, ensuring that the contractor had a clear and thorough understanding of the required works. The drafting process also involved integrating the steel frame extension with the existing screen structure, ensuring a seamless design that met all safety and operational requirements.
Through precise, accurate, and comprehensive drafting, ARP facilitated a smooth construction process. Our team’s attention to detail allowed for the seamless integration of the new steel frame extension and foundation, ensuring the safe and effective installation of the larger video screen.
